Annual Salaries Survey
Each year Acuity runs a survey for smaller housing providers to compare salaries, benefits and terms and conditions.
In 2023, more than fifty smaller housing providers took part and the feedback received was excellent.
Participants receive a detailed report, including a comparison and analysis of the salaries, rewards and employee benefits collected. The report is co-developed with Acuity benchmarking members and adapted to meet the changing needs of the sector when required. It enables leaders and their Boards to judge how the pay and rewards they offer compare with others.
For members who have not participated before, it should take around two hours to enter details for the whole organisation, including individual job roles. Those who took part in the previous year simply have to update last year’s figures.
To participate in the survey, salaries and terms and conditions are recorded as of 1 April. Data is collected during June and July, with the report published mid-August. There is a small fee for participating members.
We also provide a summary of the survey findings in our annual Acuity Benchmarking report.
Please get in touch if you would like to take part in this year’s survey.
Our Approach
Our salaries comparison service uses web-forms and a secure database to capture and compare details of each job-role in member organisations; defining roles and responsibilities as well as the rewards offered.
There is a great deal of diversity within the sector and roles in smaller organisations are often hard to pin down. We have worked closely with chief executives and HR professionals to design a system that captures all the relevant information.
Our approach is to make the process as simple as possible to complete while capturing enough information to enable meaningful comparisons.
For smaller organisations job title alone is not necessarily a good indication of a person’s role, so each post is rated using a simple matrix of areas and levels of responsibility.
Each organisation also inputs a summary of their general terms and conditions.
